NTPC has created history on 1st February, 2023 by awarding a Contract with the single highest awarded value of Rs. 20,400 Crore (approx.) on GeM portal.

This landmark event has been recorded by placing an award of MDO Contract for Kerendari Coal Block on BGR Mining & Infra. Limited, Hyderabad for production of 139.74 Million Tonne of Coal in a period of 25 years.

The tendering process for aforesaid large value Contract has been carried out by CC&M Deptt. of NTPC through a new tender portal of Government e Marketplace (GeM). With team work of CC&M Deptt. and GeM officials, a new Service category for MDO was created. All Bid processes including onboarding of Bidders on GeM Portal, publishing bidding documents, bid opening and Reverse Auction were carried out swiftly. GeM has also applauded NTPC’s efforts for creating such a landmark in GeM history and breaking its previous record of single order value of Rs. 3500 Crores (approx.).
