PVUN Ltd organised a Teen Health Fair in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Patratu, on 10th February 2023 under its Community Development Initiatives in association with Sparsh E-Voice. The fair focused on the four central pillars of Health, i.e., Physical Health, Mental Health, Reproductive Health and Nutritional Aspects.

The Health Fair was organised to inculcate awareness of various health pillars in adolescent girls and provide them with primary education while making it engaging and exciting. Each stall displayed a detailed description with models for visual explanation and included fun activities like Hopscotch, Stress Burner, Taste Test, etc. Additionally, to make it more sustainable the senior students came forwarded for learning and volunteered to explain and demonstrate at each booth. The fair was an amalgamation of practical teaching and fun learning.

The fair helped promote Health while engaging the community members and increasing educational awareness. Health fairs are an essential part of education as they also facilitate the early treatment of specific conditions and accelerate the empowerment of children. The event was held under Azadi ka Amrit Mahostav to promote Health and wellness among young girls.

Shri S.K. Panda inaugurated the event, GM(Project), in the presence of Shri Neeraj Kumar Roy, HoHR, Shri Pankaj Dhyani, AGM(CC-R&R), Shri Rajeev Ranjan,AGM(Mining), Mining Team, Medical Team, Members of Sparsh E-Voice, other employees and school staff & Students.

In his address, Shri S.K. Panda, GM(Project), also encouraged the students to be holistically fit for a healthier future. The medical team and Sparsh E-Voice also volunteered to brief & clarify various doubts of the students. Further, Dr Anupama Melhi also took a session and explained menstrual Health and hygiene to the student.

The event was concluded with distribution of Fruits and Sanitary Kits (which included Sanitary napkins, Hygiene Wash, Soap, Liquid Disinfectant, Paper Napkins, and N-95 Masks) to the students.

The Health Fair was also a part of the “Chalo School Chale” campaign by PVUN, which aims to bring children back to school, ensuring their education and reducing the school dropout rate for healthy and bright future.
