Unit-II of 2x660 MW BIFCL (Maitree Super Thermal Power Project), NTPC's flagship International Project, located at Rampal in Bangladesh was inaugurated today jointly by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh through video conferencing.

The project has been jointly implemented by Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Pvt Limited (BIFPCL), a 50:50 JV company between NTPC Ltd and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB). The power plant will enhance energy security in Bangladesh.
Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy, Secretary (Power) and CMD, NTPC and senior officials of MOP and NTPC were present through VC.
