A successful pilot auction for biomass pellets for NTPC Mouda was conducted on the M/S BioFuelCircle platform on 12th March, 2024. This innovative procurement process utilized a digital marketplace of M/S BioFuelCircle selected through a Startup India Grand Innovation Challenge for consistent supply of biomass pellets for co-firing in power plants and resulted in significant sellers response. The implementation was in joint collaboration with Finance, CC&M, Business Development, Fuel Management and station teams. This achievement paves the way for a new method of procurement, leveraging digital platforms and startups, and reiterates NTPC's commitment to innovation and sustainability.
