Shri Anil Kumar, ED (Lara) flagged off the trial run of electric locomotive for coal transportation trough MGR line from NTPC Lara to Talaipalli on 1st June 2024. NTPC Lara’s MGR system is the NTPC’s first fully electric coal transportation network. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had inaugurated this MGR line on 14th September 2023. After successful trial run, Lara station will achieve one more milestone for transportation of coal in an environment friendly manner.
NTPC’s Lara station’s MGR line possess the testimony of civil and engineering marvels. In the stretch of 65 KMs the MGR line boasts of more than 200 bridges and culverts and a 61-meter girder bridge that crosses the Mumbai-Howrah railway line of Indian railways at Kotarlia.
