On 12 June 2024, Smt. Kiran Singh, President of Sanyukta Mahila Samiti, along with senior members Smt. Sunitha Jaikumar, Smt. Meenakshi Srivastava, Smt. Chandana Kumari, Smt. C. Padmaja, President, Arpita Mahila Samiti and Smt. Anupama Srivastava, GS, Sanyukta Mahila Samiti, visited and reviewed the ongoing Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) Workshop at NTPC Sipat in the presence of  Smt. Sadhna Pandey, President, Sangwari Mahila Samiti and senior members of Sangwari Mahila Samiti. This year, 115 young girls from 31 project affected villages have been enrolled in the GEM workshop.


The delegation visited an inspiring art and craft exhibition organized by the participants of the GEM workshop at Kala Niketan premises. The event showcased the artistic talents of the GEM girls, reflecting the program's success in nurturing creativity and enabling them to bring their imagination to life. They praised the girls for their outstanding craft work and expressed their joy at their creations.

Shri Vijay Krishna Pandey, BUH, NTPC Sipat, Shri Srijit Kumar, GM (CPG-2), Shri Anil Shankar Sharan, GM (O&M) and committee members also graced the occasion.

The interaction event commenced with a movie on the journey of GEM 2024 and testimonials from GEM 2019 toppers who scored first division in 10th board examinations highlighting the transformative impact of GEM in fostering empowerment, resilience, and achieving dreams, one girl at a time. During the interaction with the students, Smt. Kiran Singh imparted words of encouragement and motivation. She underscored the essence of hard work, fitness and balanced diet to become successful and confident in life. The event also featured a captivating Nukkad Natak (street play) on the theme of 'Swachhta', presented by the GEM girls. The performance engaged the audience, highlighting the positive impact of such initiatives towards community awareness and participation. During the event, Smt. Kiran Singh unveiled the flipbook "Muskaan: An Expedition of Emotions," which effectively captures the emotional journey and experience of the GEM participants. 

The GEM girls presented the esteemed delegation with 'Worli Art' creations prepared by them. Thereafter, Smt. Kiran Singh and senior members of Sanyukta Mahila Samiti distributed mementos to all 115 GEM participants.
