The NTPC Talaipalli Coal Mining Project (TLCMP) vibrantly celebrated Durga Puja and Dussehra 2024, fostering community spirit and cultural heritage among employees and residents alike. The Puja festivities kicked off on October 6, 2024, with the auspicious arrival of the idol of Goddess Durga, marked by the traditional Kalash Yatra. This significant ritual was led by Shri Ajay Singh Yadav, Head of Project, TLCMP along with Smt. Archana Yadav, President of the Tilottama Mahila Samiti, symbolizing unity and devotion.

On October 7, the doors of the Durga pandal opened to all, inviting employees, officials, and local community members to seek the blessings of the Goddess. The day culminated in a grand Bhandara, providing a feast for all attendees, reinforcing the sense of togetherness that defines this festive season.

The celebrations continued to gather momentum on October 8 with a spectacular Ramlila performance, captivating the audience with its dramatic enactment of Lord Rama's triumph over Ravana. Employees and villagers alike came together, witnessing the performance with joy and enthusiasm, making it a highlight of the festivities.

The energetic atmosphere reached new heights on October 9 with Dandiya and dance programs. These events not only showcased the vibrant culture of the region but also allowed employees to unwind and celebrate together. Following the joyous dance sessions, the festivities on October 10 featured exciting Dandiya and Garba competitions, where enthusiastic participants competed for accolades. The winners were recognized for their impressive performances, further encouraging participation and community bonding. The day also concluded with another grand Bhandara, reinforcing the spirit of sharing and camaraderie.

The celebrations culminated on October 12 with a solemn pooja, followed by a procession around the township. The highlight of the day was the Raavan Dahan, conducted by Shri Ajay Singh Yadav, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. This poignant ritual was met with enthusiasm and participation from all, culminating in yet another grand Bhandara. Finally, on October 13, the immersion of the Durga idol took place at Gharghoda, with employees actively participating in this traditional farewell to the Goddess. The ladies' club, led by Smt. Archana Yadav, President, Tilottama Mahila Samiti, played a crucial role throughout the festivities, showcasing their unwavering enthusiasm and commitment.

The festival committee, with invaluable support from the HR Department, orchestrated this memorable celebration, uniting everyone in a tapestry of culture, devotion, and joy. The Durga Puja and Dussehra festivities at TLCMP not only honored tradition but also strengthened community bonds, leaving everyone looking forward to the next celebration.
