Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has conferred a ‘Net Zero Energy Building’ Certificate on the NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA) building. This landmark achievement underscores NTPC’s commitment to transitioning to cleaner, greener, and more sustainable energy systems.

NETRA qualified for the certification after successfully deploying its microgrid facility, consisting of a 3.3 MW/4MWp solar PV installation paired with a 1 MW/MWhr Li-ion (1C) based BESS. This setup significantly reduces NETRA’s carbon footprint and serves as a model 'Micro Grid'. This project would help reduce CO2 emissions to the tune of 3,200 Tons annually for NETRA.
