The 50th Raising Day celebration at NTPC Talaipalli Coal Mining Project was filled with pride, reaffirming NTPC’s commitment to excellence. Bringing together senior leadership, employees, and local community members, the event celebrated NTPC’s legacy as a leader in India’s energy sector while reinforcing its forward-looking vision for a sustainable future.

The ceremony began with a live telecast of an address by Shri Gurdeep Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, NTPC Ltd. followed by the ceremonial hoisting of the NTPC flag by Shri Ajay Singh Yadav, Head of Project, TLCMP. During his address, the Head of Project commended the unwavering dedication and efforts of employees who have driven the company’s journey forward. He also highlighted the accomplishments of various departments at NTPC Talaipalli CMP, noting their essential role in advancing NTPC’s strategic goals of operational excellence, safety, and environmental sustainability.

Shri Ajay Singh Yadav further stressed the importance of innovation and effective work practices, urging all employees to strive for progress. The celebration reached a high point with a cake-cutting ceremony, followed by the release of balloons symbolizing NTPC’s aspirations for even greater accomplishments. The event radiated enthusiasm, and a shared sense of pride was evident among all attendees.

In honour of this occasion, NTPC Talaipalli Coal Mining Project, under its R&R-CD initiatives, awarded the Utkarsh Scholarship to 25 students from Class X and XII across government high schools in Raikera, Kotrimal, Auraimuda, and Teram villages in Gharghoda Block, Raigarh District. Shri Ajay Singh Yadav, Head of Project, TLCMP, joined by Smt. Archana Yadav, President, Tilottama Mahila Samiti, distributed the scholarships, school bags and umbrellas, to the students. Each student was presented with an achievement certificate and a scholarship of Rs. 3,000. Representing four government high schools and two government higher secondary schools, these students benefit from the NTPC Utkarsh Merit Scholarship, which provides financial support to economically disadvantaged yet meritorious students from government schools near NTPC projects, promoting competitiveness and academic achievement.

Shri Ajay Singh Yadav, Head of Project, TLCMP, and members of Tilottama Mahila Samiti, provided Blankets to 23 women from PAP cooperative societies hailing from Project-affected villages of NTPC Talaipalli, these women are working as 'Safai Mitra' at TLCMP. During the ceremony, BUH also distributed prizes to the winners of Hindi Pakhwada 2024 and Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2024. The distribution ceremony was attended by department heads and NTPC officials, extending the impact to holistic community development through R&R-CD activities.
