The 50th Foundation Day of NTPC Limited, a Government of India enterprise, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at NTPC Kawas on November 7, 2024. The event commenced with the NTPC flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, Shri Suresh John David, Project Head (Kawas), who congratulated the gathered employees on achieving the remarkable milestone of 76,476 MW power generation capacity.
Addressing the attendees, he emphasized NTPC’s pivotal role in India’s development. NTPC currently contributes significantly to the nation’s growth by generating electricity from coal, gas, naphtha, hydro, wind, and solar sources, and is progressing towards implementing nuclear power generation plans.
In addition to power generation, NTPC is also active in coal mining, green hydrogen production, CO₂-to-methanol production, hydrogen blending, FCEV mobility projects, among other fields. He highlighted the organization's commitment to human resource development, adopting the philosophy of "People Before PLF" by implementing people-friendly policies. NTPC has also initiated significant measures such as palliative care centers and old-age homes to ensure better care for employees post-retirement.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest urged the employees to perform all tasks with the highest standards of quality and ethics. He encouraged continuous efforts to enhance skills through a multitasking approach. In his speech, he expressed gratitude to all the institutions associated with NTPC Kawas.
The program concluded with a live broadcast of the Foundation Day address by NTPC’s Chairman and Managing Director, Shri Gurdeep Singh, held at the Simulator Building auditorium. To make the day memorable, a morning procession was organized under the leadership of the Project Head, followed by a cultural evening.
