A comprehensive three-day hands-on training programme on SEL Make Numerical Relays (SEL-751 & SEL-710) was conducted from 25th to 27th March at Power Management Institute (PMI). The programme aimed to enhance the technical proficiency of participants in the operation, programming and troubleshooting of SEL make numerical relays which are essential for modern power systems.

SEL make numerical relays (SEL-751 & SEL-710) have been installed in HT & LT switchgears across several NTPC stations. The training provided participants with practical experience enabling them to effectively utilise various relay functions. The sessions included interactive lectures, practical demonstrations and real-life case studies by experts from SEL Inc. Participants gained in-depth knowledge of relay coordination, fault analysis and protection schemes along with hands-on experience in configuring relay settings.

A total of 30 executives and supervisors from various stations, project sites and CC-Engg attended the programme. The programme was well-received with participants appreciating the hands-on experience to relay operations
