PMI conducted a three-day Certification Programme on AI-ML for Power Sector from 3rd to 5th March, in collaboration with E & Y (Ernst & Young), which was attended by 44 participants. Addressing the inaugural session, Shri Virendra Malik, ED (Finance) emphasized the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in the power sector and urged participants to leverage these emerging technologies to drive NTPC’s growth and profitability. The inaugural session was also graced by Ms Rachana Singh Bhal, ED (Strategic HR & Talent Management), along with Shri Furqan Warsi, Partner (E & Y), Shri Suhaib Siddiqui, Senior Manager (E & Y) & Shri Kunal Gera, faculty member.
The programme covered key topics, such as an introduction to machine learning, types of ML models including supervised and unsupervised learning, ML model evaluation and implementation for financial data, predictive analytics for energy consumption, an introduction to Generative AI (GenAI), understanding large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering techniques, GenAI tools and platforms, AI applications in finance for the power sector. The programme concluded with a rigorous assessment, followed by the distribution of certificates to successful participants.
