Durga Puja celebrations begin at NTPC Noida on Maha Shasthi with the inauguration of SHARADOTSAV 2022 on 1st October, 2022 at NTPC Shaurya Township.

The SHARADOTSAV-2022 was inaugurated by Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD and Smt. Kiran Singh by lighting the lamp in front of the Idol of Maa Durga and offering their prayers. Shri Dillip Kumar Patel (Director) HR, Shri Chandan Kumar Mondol (Director) Commercial, Shri Ujjwal Kanti Bhattacharya (Director) Project and Shri Jaikumar Srinivasan (Director) Finance along with families also graced the invocation program.

Shri Manish Kumar Srivastava, Shri Sudip Nag, and Shri Praveen Saxena along with other devotees also offered their prayers before idol of Maa Durga.

This year the Pandal theme is “Belur Math Ramakrishna Temple (A Symphony in Architecture)”.

Besides the celebration of the diversity of Indian Religions through selection of pandal theme as Belur Math, the architectural style and symbolism from a number of religions, some of the other salient and unique attributes which will be showcased during the five-day gala, that shouldn’t be missed this year are as follows:

To make the puja eco-friendly and energy efficient, most of the pandal decoration were done using environment friendly materials and all the lights are energy efficient. The artist behind the beautiful design has spent around three weeks meticulously creating the design for engraving the MDF board. The entire pandal has been built with engraved MDF boards.

To promote and to create a sense of fun, vibrancy, a strong sense of community, connectivity, pride and a sense of place, major chunk of cultural programs are dedicated for in-house programs.

More than 150 kids in different groups are preparing for last one month for the program. The events became an opportunity for NTPC Township residents in general and township kids in particular to connect with others, spend time together, celebrate and experience the diversity of cultures and foster creativity and innovation. It allows township community to come alive and it contributes significantly to community building, and cultural development.

To Promote the usage of Clay utensils, there was a dedicated stall for selling clay utensils, diyas, surahi, etc.

To promote local vendors for food, local artisans, handicrafts instead of big brands, all the food stalls are dedicated for the locals.

Initiatives have also been taken to spread the message “Say No to Plastics”. Measures has been taken to drastically reduce use of plastics during the celebrations.
