On 23rd April 2025 NTPC Kayamkulam kick-started the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2025 with a vibrant inauguration ceremony. NTPC Kayamkulam is the first project in NTPC to commence this year’s CSR initiative GEM 2025. Shri Debdutta Sinha, Head of Project, NTPC Kayamkulam, officially inaugurated the programme. Speaking at the event, HOP Kayamkulam emphasized at empowering young girls and fostering gender equality helping them to mold themselves to become a good citizen. The program was also attended by Smt Krishnakali Sinha, President Navjyothi Ladies Club, Shri Anand Malak, AGM (O&M) , Smt Mangala Hareendran, HO-HR and other dignitaries.
GEM 2025 brings together 40 young girls from 10 government schools across five villages around NTPC project for a one-month residential workshop. The programme is designed to instill confidence, foster creativity, and provide essential life skills to the participants. GEM 2025 will look towards empowering these young girls to become a catalyst of change, influencing not only themselves but also their families, communities and the nation as a whole.
