NTPC has signed an agreement with the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi, for the Project Y-SMilE (Young Stronger India through a Million Health-Educated Students). The project aims to assess the prevalence, risk factors, and predictors of fatty liver among approximately 60,000 school students aged 11 to 17 years in the districts surrounding NTPC stations and projects.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) has been signed on December 10, 2024, at ILBS Hospital, Delhi, by Shri V. Jayanarayanan, General Manager (HR/CSR/LA/R&R) of NTPC Ltd, and Dr. Arun Kumar Rastogi, Head of Operations (Medical) at ILBS. Also present at the event were Dr. Basanta Kumar Behera, Senior Consultant at NTPC, Lt. Col. R.S. Singh from ILBS, and Shri N.D. Sambrani, DGM (CSR) at NTPC.

This project aims to educate students about the causes and prevention of fatty liver, and to empower them as "health-educated students" who will have knowledge about the disease and be able to share this information with others in the community.
