NTPC has signed an agreement with The Akshaya Patra Foundation for supporting the construction of a centralized kitchen facility in Jammu on 21st April. Under the agreement, NTPC will extend financial support of up to ₹375 Lakhs for kitchen building and infrastructure development of the facility in Jammu. The Agreement was signed in the presence of Shri Bharat Arshaba Dasa (National President), The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Shri V Jayanarayanan, GM (HR/CSR/R&R/LA), NTPC and other senior officials from both organizations.

The upcoming centralised kitchen facility is being set up under the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) Scheme to provide nutritious meals to around 15,000 school-going children everyday in government schools of Jammu and Samba districts. This initiative aims to address critical issues such as classroom hunger, malnutrition, school dropouts, and poor attendance.
