Indigenous catalyst for Methanol synthesis has been developed by NETRA and IIP Dehradun and 500 hour lab trial has already been completed. Now the catalyst has entered into last stage of trial, wherein its ‘long duration efficacy’ shall be tested. For this, ‘High Pressure Methanol Synthesis Rig’ (HP-MSR) of 10kg/day has been designed and constructed.
The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of this 10Kg/Day HP-MSR was successfully conducted at M/s Texol, Pune on 10-11 Sept,24 in presence of the NETRA and IIP-Dehradun scientists. As part of FAT, HP-MSR was operated at around 40 Bar, 260Cc and 500 ml of methanol water mixture could be successfully produced.
This HP-MSR will now be installed at NETRA and thereafter long duration trail (>5000 hr) shall be carried out for detailed characterisation and performance assessment methanol catalyst.
